The Hotboss Spiced Rum Making Process

We’ve teamed up with traditional Caribbean rum producers who’ve been crafting rum the proper way for generations. Each batch of our spiced rum begins with sugarcane, harvested by hand and fermented the slow way — giving the base spirit its depth.

After a full 5 years of barrel ageing, we select and blend the smoothest rums and ship them to the UK. That’s where the real magic happens. We infuse each bottle with our secret HotBoss spice mix — think warming cinnamon, punchy peppercorn, and citrusy orange peel — for a finish that’s bold, complex, and unmistakably HotBoss.

From island soil to British spice, this is Caribbean rum with attitude.

Double Spice uRm Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep amber with golden glints. Bold from the first pour.

Nose: A wave of vanilla and cinnamon leads the charge, followed by subtle oak, citrus zest, and cloves.

Palate: Starts smooth and slightly sweet with caramel and dried fruit, then builds into a warming, spiced crescendo — cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice dancing over toasted oak.

Finish: Long, rich, and warming. A peppery tingle lingers, smoothed out by vanilla and a final hint of orange.

Whether you’re sipping it slow or mixing up something fun, this is the kind of spiced rum that demands a second glass.

Brand Origin and Story

Uncle Hot Boss always said: “If it ain’t got flavour, what’s the point?”

Born from our love of big, bold heat and rich spice, HotBoss Rum is our take on a proper Caribbean rum — spiced with flair and bottled with fire. Inspired by late-night markets, smoky kitchens, and family recipes passed down through generations, this isn’t your average supermarket tipple.

It’s the kind of unique rum that’s made to be remembered. Handcrafted in small batches, loaded with spice, and always ready to bring some bold to your glass.

If you’re after something bland or basic… this ain’t it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Caribbean rum, and why does it taste different?

Caribbean rum is made from sugarcane grown in tropical climates and traditionally aged in oak barrels. It’s known for its rich, smooth flavour and warm spice — a world apart from mass-produced spirits.

Is HotBoss the best Caribbean rum for gifting?

If you’re after unique rum gifts with attitude, this one hits the mark. Small-batch, full of flavour, and stylishly bottled — it’s a proper upgrade from the usual.

Can I mix it, or is it best sipped neat?

Both. It’s smooth enough to sip straight, but bold enough to transform a rum & coke, old fashioned, or tropical punch.

Is it suitable for vegans or gluten-free diets?

Yes and yes. No animal products, no gluten — just Caribbean rum and real spices.

How spicy is it?

It’s warming, not wild. Think bold and balanced, with a gentle peppery kick that lifts the flavour without overpowering it.
