INGREDIENTS:

  • Hot Boss Hot Sauce: 4 tbsp (or to taste)
  • Hot Boss Original Sauce: 4 tbsp (or to taste)
  • Burger Buns: 4
  • Red Onion: 1 medium, finely diced (for both salad and burger)
  • Lettuce: 4 leaves, washed and dried
  • Tomato: 1 large, sliced
  • Cheese Slices: 4
  • Tomato Ketchup: 1/2 cup (adjust to taste)
  • Oil: 1 tbsp (plus extra for cooking)
  • Salt: To taste
  • Beef Minced Meat: 1 lb (450g)
  • Flour: 1/2 cup (for coating patties)

METHOD:

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture:
  2. • Dice the red onion into small cubes.
  3. • In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced beef, diced red onion, Hot Boss Hot Sauce, Hot Boss Original Sauce, and a dash of oil.
  4. • Add salt to taste and mix everything together until well combined.
  5. Form the Patties:
  6. • Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions.
  7. • Shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.
  8. • For best results, lightly coat each patty with flour. This helps in forming a nice crust while cooking.
  9. • Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  10. Cook the Patties:
  11. • Heat a small amount of oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  12. • Once hot, add the burger patties.
  13. • Cook for about 20 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the patties are cooked through and have a nice browned crust. Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C) for well-done burgers.
  14. Prepare the Spicy Ketchup:
  15. • In a small bowl, combine the tomato ketchup with Hot Boss Hot Sauce. Stir well to blend.
  16. Toast the Burger Buns:
  17. • Slice the burger buns in half.
  18. • Toast them on a grill, in a toaster, or in a pan until golden brown.
  19. Assemble the Burgers:
  20. • Once the patties are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes.
  21. • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
  22. • Add a slice of tomato and a slice of cheese.
  23. • Place the rested burger patty on top of the cheese.
  24. • Add a generous amount of the spicy ketchup.
  25. • Top with a few slices of red onion.
  26. • Finish with the top half of the bun.
  27. Serve and Enjoy:
  28. • Serve the burgers immediately, alongside your favourite sides.
  29. Tips for Success
  30. • Meat Handling: Handle the minced meat mixture gently to avoid compacting it too much, which can result in tough burgers.
  31. • Resting the Meat: Allowing the patties to rest before and after cooking helps retain their juices.
  32. • Spicy Level: Adjust the amount of Hot Boss Hot Sauce according to your spice preference.
