INGREDIENTS:
- Hot Boss Hot Sauce: 4 tbsp (or to taste)
- Hot Boss Original Sauce: 4 tbsp (or to taste)
- Burger Buns: 4
- Red Onion: 1 medium, finely diced (for both salad and burger)
- Lettuce: 4 leaves, washed and dried
- Tomato: 1 large, sliced
- Cheese Slices: 4
- Tomato Ketchup: 1/2 cup (adjust to taste)
- Oil: 1 tbsp (plus extra for cooking)
- Salt: To taste
- Beef Minced Meat: 1 lb (450g)
- Flour: 1/2 cup (for coating patties)
METHOD:
- Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- • Dice the red onion into small cubes.
- • In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced beef, diced red onion, Hot Boss Hot Sauce, Hot Boss Original Sauce, and a dash of oil.
- • Add salt to taste and mix everything together until well combined.
- Form the Patties:
- • Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions.
- • Shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.
- • For best results, lightly coat each patty with flour. This helps in forming a nice crust while cooking.
- • Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Cook the Patties:
- • Heat a small amount of oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- • Once hot, add the burger patties.
- • Cook for about 20 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the patties are cooked through and have a nice browned crust. Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C) for well-done burgers.
- Prepare the Spicy Ketchup:
- • In a small bowl, combine the tomato ketchup with Hot Boss Hot Sauce. Stir well to blend.
- Toast the Burger Buns:
- • Slice the burger buns in half.
- • Toast them on a grill, in a toaster, or in a pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- • Once the patties are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes.
- • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
- • Add a slice of tomato and a slice of cheese.
- • Place the rested burger patty on top of the cheese.
- • Add a generous amount of the spicy ketchup.
- • Top with a few slices of red onion.
- • Finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- • Serve the burgers immediately, alongside your favourite sides.
- Tips for Success
- • Meat Handling: Handle the minced meat mixture gently to avoid compacting it too much, which can result in tough burgers.
- • Resting the Meat: Allowing the patties to rest before and after cooking helps retain their juices.
- • Spicy Level: Adjust the amount of Hot Boss Hot Sauce according to your spice preference.
